WWW.Wednesday: Books, Just One Day Late!

What are you reading now?

I do not have much to report except that I am almost finished with:

Because I liked Quesadillas so much, I am reading Juan Pablo Villalobos’ first novella, which I like a lot. This guy is hilarious. Where does he come up with his material?

I am currently listening to:

I have begun to love short story collections and this feels good right now.

What have you recently finished?

I am trying to finish all of the above even though I should be packing boxes (We are putting our house on the market June, 1st!)

What will you read next?

And it looks just like this! I love everything about it.

Thanks to Should Be Reading for hosting!

I'm reading Pat Conroy's Beach Music. Next up (in this order) is Where'd You Go, Bernadette, The Cuckoo's Calling, The Invention of Wings. Then I'll decide between Conroy's The Great Santini and The Prince of Tides.

I read Beach Music a long while ago and remember really liking it. Let me know what you think of Bernadette. I found her hilarious. I have Cuckoo's Calling and The Invention of Wings in my stack. Of the two. I'm most excited about Wings. This morning, a friend gave me The Husband's Secret so I'm going to get into that this weekend (I saw on GRs that you really liked it). Too many books, too little time!

You're moving? What a project but it sounds exciting. I have joined some quarterly short fiction literary pubs, in hopes of reading more short stories -- in hopes of inspiring me to write short fiction. I used to do pretty good when it was cold and I'd stay inside on the elliptical. Now I do most of my reading at night in bed when I wake up. I have to use what's on my e-reader so I don't wake you know who up. Right now I'm reading The Writing Class by Jincy Willett. Other than coveting the name Jincy -- it's a funny, well-written read. A mystery set in a writing class. Good luck on selling the casa.

Good luck to selling, packing moving! What a summer plan! I just got finished watching back to back series of a Mad Men In my reading/listening time - now I'm looking for something. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi Jamie! Yes, we are putting our house on the market as soon as I can get it ready and we are moving into the city for a few years of maintenance free fun. Can't wait but it's a lot of work.

I have loved almost every story Alice Munro has written (that I have read). I love short stories and, like you, aspire to write them. I will check out The Writing Class. It sounds intriguing!

I am tired and sore from all the lifting and moving. More to do today but then we get a break. Hopefully, we will move by the first of August. I love Mad Men. Started it "live" in the third season so I did back to back series one winter in time for the new season premiere. I've fallen a little behind on this season though it will not take long to catch up.

Take a look back at some of my previous suggestions. They might be better.
