Trifecta: Ode to the Tootsie Pop

Trifecta challenged us to write a 33-word metaphor/simile based story using one of the four pictures shown on their website. Check them out. Each one would be fun to use!

Because I LOVE them, especially the orange ones…and I bite them almost immediately…and can’t help it (I do not have patience in abundance), I chose this cute picture.

Her girlish mind’s like that Tootsie Pop she’s eyeing intently.

What’s deep inside? How long will it take to get there; know her?

Like any girl/woman, the answer?

The world may never know.

Sweet! Pun intended ;-)

Side note, I don't last 30 seconds before I bite.

I am going to refrain from responding, but it won't be easy.

lol that last line xD

Sweet indeed ;-)

Oh, man! If I make it 30 seconds, that's a record. Love the taste of the crunchy orange and tootsie roll together.

Sur-prize, sur-prize!!! Biting your tongue does not come naturally!

Thanks, Draug! True life?

I enjoyed reading this. We call it a lolly-pop here. And I was hoping for some inspiration for this photograph but then I chose the one with tree.

As opposed to you missy, who can't help but bite or so you shared here. ;)

Good comparison!

We call it a Tootsie Pop because it has a Tootsie Roll inside otherwise they are lollipops. I almost picked the one with all the stuff covering the walls. That one spoke to me as well.

I really liked, "What's deep inside?" I think you've got a metphor and simile going on here, but I'm no authority on such things! Anyway, either or both are very good. I guess you could say, "Life is like a Tootsie Pop, you never know what you're going to get." Oh, I think I'm mixing up my movie similies. Great job.

"how long will it take to get inside?" -- loved that comparison.

Love how the ending is like those old commercials with the owl (I think) saying the world may never know how many licks it takes to get to the center!

I like this a lot - what's deep inside - the world may never know. Nicely done.

This was a thought provoking picture. And you captured the essence of her enigmatic expression with your interpretation.

I loved this! Truthful, but lighthearted and fun.

Thank, Steven. Always loved the commercial.

Thanks, lumdog. It was fun to do this simile. Yes, you are thinking Forest Gump and the owl mixed together. Tootsie Pop commercial.

Gina said...

Maybe never. Takes some work (a lot of licks). Thanks for liking!

Gina said...

That was my inspiration, the owl in the commercial who pronounces "Three. It takes three licks" to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. Doesn't work that way for us though!

Gina said...

Thanks, Stephanie. I believe it's true.

Thanks. I stared at it a while but the thought came quickly. It was the ilook on her face that drew me into the picture.

I was going for fun and lightness so thanks for noticing.
