Reconciling $250K

One inch of medical bills + One inch of Insurance Claim Adjustment Forms

=

Too much of my time to figure out and reconcile!

Oh and $250K.

Thank goodness I'm only on the hook for 10 of those "K"s!

Hospitalization and medical care while entirely necessary are a complete rip off. Don’t you agree?

I want to write!

I want to read!

I want to walk the dog because it’s stopped raining.

But if I don’t get these in order before Monday, and paid, I might have trouble with…..

I don’t like being in trouble.

250 omg! no wonder you not sweating the 10. But 10 is still a good piece of change and could still put a serious cramp on any wallet in this economy.

the most important thing is your ok. but you gotta wonder what people without money or insurance ?

I've spent all freaking afternoon on these bills, Jen! I hate it. We have a very high deductible because Scott works for himself so it keeps the premiums down and NOTHING catastrophic ever happens to Scott and Gina. Well, well, well! I showed them! 2 surgeries + 7 days ICU + a crapload of tests = $250K. EASY!

And yes! 10K is a shitload of money and I feel crappy about it. My neck is good as new but I'm scheduling shoulder surgery on Monday for October to get it repaired since our deductible has been met.

I don't know what people do without either. Most people have $1,000 deductibles so possibly that's more doable but I still don't like to part with that much for something like this.

Wow, only 10k? I know that's a lot of money, but when I think of the alternative, I am just glad that you are okay.

Would your homeowners insurance cover some of this?

Tina,
You are right. $10K is nothing. The alternative would have been long term care for me and that would have been ongoing. I'm fortunate to come out unscathed for the most part. Just losing my mind but that was probably going anyway.

I hadn't thought about the liability portion of my H.O. policy. I used to be an insurance adjuster waaaaay back. I should know this. I think it's for accidents by others on your property but worth a check for sure.
