Sometimes things can be fixed. And all consuming, passionate, can’t breathe without you love can last. Forever. Eyes tearing, Gabby said, “I’m so sorry if I lead you on. I can’t do this.”

  1. Wow, this was powerful. And, I think sad for both of them.

    1. It's a firm ending to a very long and complicated story. Thanks, Lance.

    2. Totally what I thought, too, Lance. I could see it placed anywhere in a story. I sort of like that it's an end. :)

  3. Such a sad ending. But I agree with the other kids in the pool, it can really be placed anywhere! Nice work.

    1. Nope, cancelled the reservations! Not to be continued, at least not this story. Maybe there's a sequel to this drama for her.

  5. Sad ending. It feels like they tried, but couldn't find or keep the passion.

    1. Believe me. These two never had a shortage of passion and it oozed out of every pore of their bodies. People noticed them. They were hot for each other for over 30 years. Life decisions and timing got in the way of this fictional couple... or so the story goes.

    1. I'm sure the character has thoughts and strong feelings about the decision. She made the right one and knows it or at least that's what the author of the story thinks and knows.

  8. It's sad, for sure, but true to life. Sometimes things just end. Thanks for linking up with us again. Please come on back tomorrow for the new prompt.

    1. You are right. It is true life and some things are meant to last. Others aren't. Hopefully we can tell the difference between the ones that should and shouldn't.

  9. Aw ... I like to think Gabby is deciding *against* an affair and choosing to fix her marriage. And I think it's always more interesting why people stay together than why they break up.

    1. Gal, you are very perceptive and right. It is more interesting why people stay together. You know why I think so? It's much harder work.
