It's All Too Tempting!

A 33 word original fable for Trifecta

“Best to walk by. Don’t look. Definitely don’t sniff! NOT as good as you imagine. The urge passes.”

************************************

“It’s too tempting. That smell!”

************************************

“Remember our lesson on consequences, young grasshopper.”

    1. It was reality for YEARS with both of them. Yes! That song is so fitting.

    2. Gina, thanks for commenting on my original entry. I liked it, but I linked up a new one which I hope is better. BTW, typing Lynyrd Skynyrd was hard on my i phone. Spell check didn't have a clue what I was trying to spell Lol!

    3. Oh, I will have to go read it then.

I just looked up and saw the original spelling. Way too funny. I don't suppose there would be a spell check or an auto-correct for that one. Very funny!

  2. Those are a lovely pair of labs, Gina.

The other day our black found a dead fish and was so proud. But she couldn't figure out why no one wanted to celebrate with her. :)

    1. Thanks, Ken! They had a VERY close relationship after the older one realized that the puppy wasn't going away (took a year) but the old lady is gone now (7 weeks ago and we miss her very badly).

I completely understand her proud moment and need to celebrate. My younger one is naughty and brings us all sorts of such treats! Last time it was a baby bunny. Not good!

    1. Oh thanks! They were very sweet together.

Yep! The grass isn't greener and yielding to some temptations can't bite you in the bottom, for sure.

  4. Nice piece. Animals are so funny at times. I did not enjoy the gifts though that they were so proud of.

    1. WE weren't pleased with the bunny but she didn't know better and was trying to be gentle. We've received a dead fish as well and last week she was one ich from grabbing a baby duck who wasn't swimming with the family. Nature! And they are funny little personalities!

  5. Oh it reminds me of my dogs growing up who, no matter how OFTEN they got skunked, would still go out and do it again.

    1. The young, naughty one hasn't been skunked yet which is soooo surprising! Ellie only got it once but she must have had her nose firmly up against the skunk's butt because she had it dripping from her eyelashes. It was so very disgusting and she smelled when wet for 4 months, Maybe more!

    2. Oh and to add, some people are the same way. Never learn.

    1. Can't help yielding to temptation. Kind of like us in that way.

    1. It's so hard teaching them the concept of temptation versus consequences. I've made lots of mistakes and they have as well, but nothing too terrible so far!

  10. The pics are sweet! I love how you used them to inspire your piece.

    1. Thanks, Wisper. Those two are the perfect examples of resisting temptation and consequences. In their world, everything smells and tastes good. Therefore, it should be devoured. Doesn't work that way with us humans.
