Asking
him to look through his wallet, and surprised he said “yes”, I combed through piece-by-piece,
paper-by-paper. It felt strangely exciting, intensely personal, bordering on inappropriate.
Like he trusted me with his secrets.

That says a lot about that relationship. This is a very different take on the prompt. Well done!
Gina, this is really good.. unique take on the prompt. Wonderful!
Oh, Gina . . . such trust on both sides in this. Well done.
See, now I want to know if they're best friends, sleeping together, or something even crazier. Good job reeling me in.
It happened last night. I'm glad you liked it!
Thank you, Steph!
It was sort of a weird experience. It felt soooo intimate, personal. He said he trusted me...in the end.
I'm so glad to have reeled you in!!! That makes me happy. They/we are just friends. We aren't super close either. We like each other, as friends, but he's more of my husband's friend than mine.
Great job of displaying trust in a relationship, even if it felt a bit inappropriate. That's a guy with nothing to hide, a rarity these days!
Trust is such a fragile thing-so glad that you earned it:-)Lovely take on the prompt Gina.
I find this to be a rather funny situation in so much as I have never had any desire to go through the purses of any of the women in my life over the years. But, I guess it might be different for women, I don't know. Do you view my wallet as a window into my soul? This all having been said, trust is crucial and that came through quite clearly in your story.
I totally get the trust thing here but am I being slightly daft in not following -
Asking him to look through his wallet, and surprised he said “yes”, I combed through piece-by-piece, paper-by-paper.
You asked him to look through his wallet and 'you' combed through it?
Maybe because I am tired Gina :-( apologies.
That is a personal thing! Great post.
That's a fantastic 33words..secrets are cool and interesting. Asking him that is asking him to open a door to his heart/life and keep it open. Sounds like a decent man, a good man.
Well done! Smartphone permission is the same in some ways too.
Thanks for sharing!
I clicked on yours because I was wondering how your name was after mine. New submission! I like this one. That would be the inside of my husbands pants pockets, when I ask, "Do you want those jeans washed?" Normally I say, "Empty the pockets" because the wad of stuff in there IS his wallet.
What ticket stubs did you find... Cubs or Sox?
Whoa. I wouldn't be so brave as to allow that. o__O
Another great piece! Love the intimacy this describes.
a very personal narrative - and perhaps nosy, yes...LOL
That *is* intimate, in a very unexpected way - like feeling the shape of a person's face with your fingers. And it definitely speaks of trust.
The exciting part was that a "half" joking request turned into reality. Asked him why he let me afterwards and he said because he trusted me. We don't know each other THAT well. Nothing to hide!
Well I didn't earn it. He assumed correctly that he could trust me. I am very discreet. Thank you Atreyee!
I find it equally as funny. I've never even gone through my husband's wallet. No interest or need. I was looking for something tondo. The request came out of my mouth. What can I say? Again, nothing more than something to occupy my time. Not thinking it was a " window" to anything! It wasn't until I started running across numbers and codes did it occur to me that I was getting personal. Over stepped my bounds maybe...
You've confused me as well here. Yes, I asked if I could clean out his wallet. He said yes. Why? I don't know. Occasionally, I'm inappropriate. Quite possibly this is one of those times. Rambly, sometimes I can't explain my behavior. Apologies to you for your confusion!
Thank you, Bo. I always appreciate your visits!
He's a great guy. I was just having fun. He was willing to go along with my nonsense. People indulge me for some reason. I love sharing moments with people. Thanks for your appreciation, Kir. Means a lot!
Thanks, Brian. I can see that! People look at my phone all the time. Half the time when someone texts me, I ask someone to respond on my behalf. Nothing of importance on my phone.
Hahahaha! I had a feeling YOU might figure that out. I don't empty pockets r he wash. And anything found ($$$) is mine!
I did not find a stub but had I it would have been Northsiders all the way!!!
I'm so used to people being all up in my SH$T that it matters not! I have no privacy in my life. Have at it!
Thanks, Susanne!!!
Very nosy and that's really not me...nosy. But if I'm bored, I guess you never know?
You know, I didn't think so until I started digging in. I LOVE touching someone's face. I get that!
Funny. Had my private space violated when I was young and have never had the desire to even be invited into another's. Nice piece, Gina.
