Trifecta: Relationship Rainbows

Could it be we’ll never understand each other?

Could it be not completely?

Could it be that men and women just can’t?

But,

Maybe it’s possible only with lovers.

Maybe not even then.

Maybe that’s just normal; the way it seems to go.

And,

Could it be destined for perpetual agree-to-disagrees?

Could it be merely when things are light and bright and cheery?

Could it be mutters of “how sorry” for constant misunderstandings?

But,

Maybe, just maybe, it only works with friends.

Maybe, then, only sometimes.

Maybe, though, it never really works at all.

So,

Maybe it’s just a ridiculous relationship rainbow.

Could it be the only explanation?

God only knows. Thanks so much for the lovely!

Gina, this really made me smile and great use of the prompt. The structure, repetition and doubts/possible answers that play out have your reader digging into their own minds for their answer.
But I like yours.
Thanks for linking up!

Relationship rainbows - I like that! Maybe men and women can understand each other (sometimes)...maybe not. I don't know :)

Your smiling makes me very happy! It's a conundrum for everyone, I think. Whoever figured it out deserves to win the lottery or something equal to that. Wait, I know!! The Nobel Peace Prize!!!

Me too! I think sometimes is doable! Maybe that's all we can truly hope for, but who really knows?

relationship rainbows - makes me think of how exciting new relationships are, and how mostly unexciting old ones become. Or maybe they just get comfortable.

Relationships rainbows, that is a perfect way to describe the questions we all have about how to understand one another.

this made me a little sad because sometimes I just wish we could all just find a kind space with one another, see the rainbow: together.

it was beautiful.

What does understand each other mean?

Serious question, no snark.

It makes me think of any sort of meaningful interaction with men. Certainly, old relationships feel comfortable. You are used to them which is a wonderful feeling. New ones are definitely exciting. Seems, though, that they all end up as old ones.

When it happens, you see "it" together. That is a wonderful, wonderful thing! I wish it would happen more often but there is also something to be said for differences. That yin yang thing sure fits together nicely, right?

Thanks!!!!

Don't have time to write it all out right now but I promise I will.

Serious? From you? I'm a little skeptical...

Your piece made me think...a lot. I think people who love each other can come to understand each other if they really communicate. But, sadly, it's just easier to keep that troubling thought to yourself than to get it out there and hash it out. I've had two relationships go down the drain simply because we were unwilling to try. Very thoughtful piece of writing.

Relationship rainbow--I like that! This would be the first time I've ever seen the two words put together. Relationships are enigmas, aren't they? Wonderful response to the prompt, Gina!

If you don't think I am serious than you don't know Jack. :)

It would be nice if things were just all simple...
I like the relationship rainbow too!

Gina said...

No. I knew/know you are serious here. You're just not serious here too often ;-)

I think my daughter is the closest thing to a relationship rainbow that I have. I never knew the meaning of unconditional love until her.

One thing is certain though, Gina-I love this piece:)

some deep stuff here. :) awesome use of the prompt!

Gina said...

Yes, love, respect and communications with friends and lovers. Communicating is very difficult sometimes especially with touchy subjects. It's often easier to keep it in and I'm as guilty of that as anyone. Thanks, lumdog!

Gina said...

I've never seen/heard them together either. Sometimes, yes! Thanks Sandra!

Gina said...

Yes it would be but comicated can be really fun though! And rewarding!

They say the only truly unconditional love is between parent and child.

Thank you so much Valerie!

Too kinds as always, Christina!
