My goodness, Gina! The atmosphere is perfectly realized, and that casual, cheeky iciness is wonderful. Really enjoyed this :))
ReplyDeleteCompliments coming from you, Jo-Anne, mean the world to me!!! I love cheeky. One of my favorite ways to be and write.
DeleteOh boy, she's pretty ticked! I love your descriptions of just how cold it is :)
ReplyDeleteShe's way, way, way beyond ticked, I feel. In my experience, when the heart turns cold toward something...it's an Artic freeze out. Or maybe that's just me.
DeleteAnd that dog house is going to be cold, and lonely.
ReplyDeleteShe told the dogs not to have anything to do with him either. He's done!
DeleteOooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Sizzlin' cold.
ReplyDeleteEven colder...
DeleteThanks, kymm!
I can't stop looking at that picture. I am completely in love with it.
ReplyDeleteI know. I feel the same way. I want to be her, fogging up that glass.
DeleteWhoa!! This is killer awesome Gina!
ReplyDeleteSo, so, so cold! (And that's good!)
Stunning, my friend!
Maybe she does...kill him! Yikes!!! You are so kind, Val!!!!!!!!
DeleteYour wonderful descriptions bring a whole new meaning to out in the cold!! Thanks for sharing and don't forget to come back and vote!
ReplyDeleteI personally don't have it in me but this alter-ego sure seems to. Someone once told me when he's severely crossed that person no longer exist to him. I'm a little that way. Emotions turned off, bye-bye, you don't exist...
DeleteAh, that is cold. We used to keep horses and cows (and pigs and chickens) when I was in grade- and high school. Winters, we would have to take not an ice pick but a screwdriver or an awl to chink through the ice that froze every night across the red buckets hanging in each stall. Thanks for bringing back that memory! By the way, when I clicked on your comment on my page, I got an error message.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy it created a memory for you, Kelly. I know a little about cold this winter living in Chicago. Ice cold doesn't even do it justice.
DeleteLet me head over and check it out.
That was a chilling write! I got a shiver just reading it, and that picture. Loved it!
ReplyDeleteYea! Good!!! I was cold writing it. Really! That picture haunts me in the most beautiful way. Thanks for commenting, Glynis!
DeleteOooh! A three dog night! I don't know what that is, but it doesn't sound good. Loved how you used the imagery of cold to make your point--like ice!
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, it heralds from cowboy lingo. One dog in your bed to warm you on a fairly cold night. Three dogs on an extremely cold one. I'm so happy the imagery worked for you! I was going for ice running through veins.
DeleteI like her. My type of gal....
ReplyDeleteI like her. too. She seems dangerous. I think I'd be watching my back around her.
DeleteOuch!
ReplyDeleteThis is very good :)
He is definitely in the dog house and he'd better watch out ;)
Here in the UK I've never heard of that phrase
'three dog night,'
but it's perfect and I must try and get people using it over here :)
Enjoyed and love your blog
Ally :)
You are so sweet, Ally! Thank you. I knew what a "three dog night" meant but had never used it before. Introduce it over there!
DeleteI feel frozen just reading this. I could hear the icicles forming. Well done!
ReplyDeletePerfect! Then you know exactly how I meant it, Lisa! Being frozen out means you don't exist anymore. Maybe this woman meant physically but I take it as emotionally, mentally, over and done with. Once we make up our mind, at least mine, very little can change it.
DeleteNothing is colder..
ReplyDeleteand while I don't believe in revenge, I do believe in karma..because it comes around, colder than you can imagine.
"three dog night" , what a fantastic phrasing.
as usual, you write and I read and stand in awe.
I don't personally believe in it either. I take the tack of non-existence. You aren't on this planet anymore, at least to me.
DeleteI TOTALLY believe in Karma and I believe it takes care of situations like this (I've tried to teach my kids this as well). And it is bitchier than I could ever be, that Karma gal!!!
You are my favorite commentor!!!!! And I feel the same about you!
Now that is cold!! Karma certainly always comes around and makes us wonder how worth it exacting revenge really is! ♥
ReplyDeletePersonally, I like it let Karma do her thing without intervention. She's much more exacting than I could ever be. Plus I'm a softy. It's rather just ignore you like you're a stranger to me.
DeleteBrilliant. I have never heard the phrase "three dog night" and I love it!!! They always say that revenge is a dish best served cold. I was reading comments above. I also don't exactly believe in revenge. That takes up my time and consumes me, therefore giving someone else power over me. Now Karma, love it when she shows her best bitchy face. :) I have written in one poem at which time I can't recall, "you know what they say about karma? well, i'm the bitch." I'll have to find it sometime. This is a wonderful piece!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant is one of my very favorite words so thank you very much, Donetta! I wholeheartedly agree with you about the time sucking nature of revenge. Not my style either. I think I may even remember your Karma = Bitch piece. She's one nasty chick if you aren't careful! Thanks again!
DeleteLOL...I'm shivering!!! This was a great read. It just flows so well. I loved reading it. My favorite was "ice pick cold." Now, that brings some images to mind:~)
ReplyDeleteFeels like frozen tundra to me! Thank you so much, Sara! Ice picks are pretty scary instruments to have in ones hands when really upset.
DeleteAwesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWhen you say ice-pick cold I somehow got to think about Trotskij.. but I assume it should be more Basic Instinct...
ReplyDeleteIn my mind, it was more just plain freezing, could also be Basic Instinct but why Trotskij?
DeleteI appreciate that, Ruby!
ReplyDeleteThis is wickedly fantastic! I love, love, love the caustic attitude. I could feel this so well I had to pull my hoodie a little tighter to get warm.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your wit. Another fun read. :)
Thanks Ivy! This woman seems pretty passive aggressive to me. I'd watch out!
DeleteOuch. The cold anger is so palpable here. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteSomething very bad must have gone down for her to be this icily angry. Watch out. Thanks for visiting, Christine!
DeleteWow, Gina. So powerful and chilling. And I loved the three dog night comment too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, momo! It's been a long winter.
DeleteWas watching a Stalked episode where a woman did in her man -- or tried to. This could have fit her nicely. Good job.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Stalked but I will check it out. He's done her wrong or at least she thinks he has. Thanks so much, Jamie!
