Trifecta wants us to give them a 33-word
example of personification. Here it is defined in case we've forgotten our English 101, which is entirely possible. It's the practice
of attaching human traits and characteristics with inanimate objects, phenomena
and animals (http://literary-devices.com).
Worn like a snug, little, black dress.
Dressed down in
Jeans, white tee, flip-flops.
Their colors...
Black
White
Gray
Stylishly told
Always.
Watching her true-mirrored reflection
Wearing them believably.
Applaud
Veil
Refrain
Choose.
So much to choose from, what to pick!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Choices!
DeletePick the little red dress! lol
ReplyDeleteOooohhhh! Red, the scandalous one! Should have used that color too.
DeleteI have used this comment before but it really applies here...........I am amazed by writers who pack sooooooo much story, so much emotion, so many layers of meaning into a mere 33 words! Incredibly good writing.
ReplyDeleteTom, thank you so much for your enthusiastic comment. I really appreciate it. You are right. It's hard to tell a story in so few words. Love the challenge.
DeleteStylishly told, always - nice :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dawn!
Deleteahhh, Gina . . . so much, so much
ReplyDeleteSo thankful you liked it, Barbara!
DeleteI like how you used the shape of the poem to give more meaning to your words as well.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope it did. That's what I attempted to do so thank you for noticing, Kristin.
DeleteVisual presentation matters, at least with this post! Beautiful job, as always!
ReplyDeleteEverything needs to look visually pleasing ;-) I appreciate your kind words, Tina!
Deletechoose..the shoes...I am a real fan of this minimalist poetry, I must say.
ReplyDeleteManagua, You don't even know what a complete nut I am over shoes. I would choose shoes any day over almost any fashion item. I like minimalist poetry as well. Thank you for commenting.

ReplyDeleteI appreciate you comment, Janna!
DeleteThat's very cool, Gina. I don't think I have the discipline to do something like that. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks! You don't have the discipline to tell a story in 33 words? Oh yes you do. I know you can.
DeleteWhat a show! And yet, the little black dress can never go wrong!
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to jeans myself but when in doubt, wear the little black dress!
DeleteA classic, like that little black dress.
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie.

ReplyDeleteThank you for such a wonderful compliment. I really appreciate it.
