Am I a Good Liar? Which One is True?

Today's topic for Monday Listicles over at Stasha's Place is 10 facts about us. The tricky part here is 9 are fictional but one has to be true. I can do that because I'm writing them, not saying them. If I say something or tell you something, it's true.

However...writing is about living in a make believe world sometimes. Right? I'm so down with that, too.

So I've tried to make these "me facts" about things I don't regularly talk here but if you know me, I think this one will be fairly easy. So here goes...9 are fiction, one is true.

1. I don’t eat meat of any kind. Not chicken, fish and certainly not beef! I’m strictly a veggies girl.

2. Pizza would NOT be my choice for “you can only eat one thing for the rest of your life” on a deserted island. Actually, I’d do quite well by myself, all alone, on a deserted island for life. No one to keep me company but books.

3. I am deathly afraid of the water, being underwater, feeling submerged. I won’t snorkel and don’t even ask me to SCUBA dive!

4. I am a total blabbermouth and say everything that comes to my mind. I stick my foot in my mouth so often that I embarrass my husband and children!

5. I have a tattoo that is 1.5” by 3” and it’s in a spot you can see if you really look hard. It’s a favorite quote in another language.

6. I am not a morning person! In fact, don't touch me or even speak to me in the morning until I’ve had coffee and a shower!

7. I am extremely mellow on the outside; you'll have to push all kinds of buttons to get me to lose my temper then you've got a full blown Italian explosion on your hands. The good news is that it’s over before you know it. I apologize easily and don’t hold grudges.

8. I own a snake and feed it one frozen mouse every week.

9. I am absolutely the slowest driver in the world. As a matter of fact I was ticketed once for driving too slow.

10. I’m extremely neat. My house is impeccably tidy at any given time because I’m slightly obsessed with lack of clutter. I can’t stand anything out of place and wig out a bit if someone doesn’t put something away immediately!

  1. I'm going with numero 6 really who can do ANYTHING without their morning cup-o-joe!

  2. All of you non-liars certainly are good at this listicle! Just enough details to make it sound plausible, but not too many to give it away. Eanie,meany,miney,mo...#7.

    1. I tried to state a plausible case for each one. I am Italian so, therefore I just might have a fiery temper right out of the box!

  3. I think 7 as well. Mostly because you didn't say you tore the head off that woman that said the jerky thing about your son. :)

    1. Well, was I setting up the fib for today knowing what the listicle was going to be? That's a thought!

    1. Out of all the bloggers I interact with, you and Jen have been around the longest. You probably know me the best based on comments back and forth on all your blogs. My guess is you know the answer to this.

  5. These lists are so hard! I'm going with #7 but was tempted to pick the snake since that's an odd one to make up!

  6. I think number 7 is the true statement.

    1. Hey Mind of Mine, my very first follower. How are you? I just love when you pop up and comment. Hope this reply finds you doing well across the pond! I don't know if you are correct. I've been told I'm a hot head ;-)

  7. I'm so bad at stuff like this. I hope the snake one is true just so one day you can post pictures of the snake's mouse-lump belly slowly decreasing in size as it digests along with your pithy commentary of the process. It's probably not true, though. Ah well.

    1. I would so love to write a post just like that! It's soooo fascinating in the creepiest of ways! You might be right!

  8. Fun post! I might steal this idea in the future. And ... I am going to guess #2 is the truth. On an unrelated note, I'm doing the work out thing. I lost two pounds, but damn -- I am out of shape. I did Dora's Dance Party on the Wii with my daughter and couldn't even keep up with Dora and Boots. Oh man!

    1. Steal, steal. I do Monday Listicles sometimes because they're really fun.

Hey! Two pounds is awesome. It's not easy to modify your whole life on the count of "GO". Relish the small victories and keep up the activity. Somedays you'll feel like you have more energy. Other days you won't but you have to push past that. Plan on being tired! Eventually, certain things become easier and you find a new way to challenge your body. The big thing is that you're conscious of it and you are working at it. Big step! In a few weeks, you'll be kicking Dora's little skinny ASS ;-)

  9. I'm going with #3. This list is very creative and much harder than I though tit would be.

    1. Okay. I will knock this one out. I am PADI certified for diving up to 100 feet and at night. I love the water and swim daily in the summer. I think this is hard too. I'm trying to think of the person, what I've read before and then it's process of elimination kind of like a multiple choice test!

  10. I'm having second thoughts can i change my vote moma bear?

  11. Oh you were seriously too detailed to make it hard to pick! Each one sounds like it could be true. Hmph!

    2. I with Jen. I only started reading your blog a few weeks ago when I stumbled across Yeah Write. I just don't know enough about you yet to guess. But it was fun reading the list!

  13. I'm going with number 4. Did anyone else pick that? I'm a comment skimmer...I don't take the time to read those...probably should have. Might have given me better odds with my answer being the right one. So....was it?

    1. I skim the comments sometimes too. Nope! I will eliminate that one. Fortunately or not, I tend to think before I speak pretty much always. I rarely stick my foot in my mouth and never say everything that's going through my mind.

  14. Oh, gosh that' tough! I don't know, I guess I'll go with number 4? They all seem like they could be real, though!

    1. I'm glad they all seem real. I suppose I should try my had at tall tales!

I have the tightest lips around. I can't say never but I generally don't blabber about anything that would get me in trouble or embarrass someone. However, if I'm in a silly mood and feel comfy with who I'm with I can talk a whole lot of nonsense and then i WILL make stuff up just to get a laugh (we call the butt facts). All in fun, though and not harmful or mean spirited. Just plain old ridiculous.

    1. Ya, I can be a little long on detail when my imagination starts to whirl! Hell, no! Never! No way #1!!! I love me some rare, juicy Ribeye and a big fat cheeseburger and...I haven't had breakfast. Maybe I should go eat!

  16. I'm going with #7 because 6 and 7 don't seem to go together, so one of them has to be the truth, right? (I NEVER over think anything.) Ellen

    1. 6 and 7 don't go together in the way that it is stated. I am a morning person. Talk to me, whatever...even before coffee. I wake up really well. Thanks for visiting, Ellen!

  17. I am going with number two... the whole book thing makes sense to me... hmmm, when is the big reveal?

    1. Pizza would be my hands down choice if I could eat only one thing for the rest of my life. I wonder if I could do the whole deserted island thing by myself and just books. I'd like to think I could but...I'd like to have one other person with me for entertainment value!

    2. I love pizza, but I am not sure i could do it all the time. But an island with books I am in there :)

  18. For anyone who is still reading this....It's #7. It takes a lot to get under my skin and fire me up. Unfortunately, if that is your goal, which it would have to be, you are in for some rational discussion! After about five minutes, I'm like "Oh, let's figure this out and move on!". Then it's dropped as far as I'm concerned.

The rest have not one lick of truth to them!

    1. Yeah, now that I read it again, that had truth written all over it. ;-)

  19. I'm going to skim the comments after I comment. But I am guessing the water one is true. Oh phooey, I can see your last response so I am wrong. Let me go read #7 again.

  21. I knew it! DARN! That's what I thought.
That's why i called you moma bear when i thought about changing my selection. I started to think about being around that Italian temper you mention from time to time.. particularly if someone did something to those cubs of yours!!

    1. I knew you'd know! That's exactly what I thought when you said can I change. I have a pretty mellow Italian temper compared to my relatives. It takes a LOT! I don't like being upset. But don't mess with my cubs!!!!!
