Trifecta: 'Tis the Season For...

'Tis the season for gluttonous, coveting overdone-ness,

Hyper-jiggly with anticipation, excitement and too much of a
good thing-ness.

Missed minuscule moments
for personal reflection.

long lost love

-peace-

returns with the New Year-ness.

Inspired by this quote:
“In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it 'Christmas' and went to church; the Jews called it 'Hanukkah' and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say 'Merry Christmas!' or 'Happy Hanukkah!' or (to the atheists) 'Look out for the wall!”
― Dave Barry
This weekend Trifecta wants us to give them a pithy summary of our feelings about the holidays. Our response does not need to be cynical or sarcastic. Expressed in 33 words.

  1. Great job with this poem. I like how you went from cynicism to hopeful in such a short piece. Glad your back with all technology at your disposal.

  16. Hey Everyone! Thank you so much for the kind comments. I snuck away on vacation to write these 33 words while I was trying to go "unplugged". I did really, really well though and hardly checked a thing!

Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! May your days be filled with those you love.
