When Gaining Weight Becomes Sport

"When we lose twenty pounds… we may be losing the twenty best pounds we have!  We may be losing the pounds that contain our genius, our humanity, our love and honesty. "

 ~Woody Allen

To ensure my genius, humanity, love and honesty remain intact, I've indulged in BBQ pulled pork, hand cut french fries, and deep fried Oreos today. And crab and cheese grits and shrimp mac and cheese. At some point the ice cream sundae became a non-factor.

I love southern fried food but my clothes are boycotting! By the end of this vacation and at this rate, I will have those 20 that Woody contemplated! They will be hard earned. But at least, per him, I should be gaining or retaining my smartness, kindness, amorousness and truthfulness.

Pictures to follow of fried Oreos and a chubby girl (fried cookie for sure! Chubby girls, unlikely!)

    1. Oh! Damn! That would stink big time. I'm usually extremely conscious of what goes in my mouth and I'm usually uber good. However, vacation makes me eat with reckless abandon. I love to eat and when I don't, I get crabby.

      Good luck with meds!

  2. Pulled pork is not fattening! It's all the extra stuff! That's my story, anyhow...

    1. Tina,
You are absolutely right. The pulled pork was lean. But today's fried Buffalo shrimp, slaw and hush puppies plus salted caramel ice cream and Italian food for dinner...

I'm in biiiiiigggg trouble come Monday!

  3. The only thing about getting older is that you can take great head shots and no one knows what going on below. I used to gain weight in my cheeks, I still do if I've really been off the chain. Other than that it settles at the belly button and below. All the stuff you had sounds scrumpdelish!

    1. I absolutely agree with the headshot thing. Chubbiness gives you a nicely rounded, youthful face. My clothes just get tight around the waist but I wear a lot of sundresses in the summer when the wheels usually fall off my healthy eating habits. Fall is tricker because I hate snug jeans! That's generally my motivation!

I hope today I eat a little lighter!
