Those
frequently
fleeting,
unmistakable,
“I
knew exactly when you existed.”
moments
of
tentative
glances,
shy
smiles,
lips
about to touch
firsts
awakening,
or
often jolting,
one,
or
five,
of
your senses;
the
wishing
you
could bottle it,
and,
the
wondering
what
if?

ReplyDelete~S(t)ri Writes
Thank you!
Deletethat first meet or that first person that makes your heart (and mind and life) race.
ReplyDeleteyour words gave a soundtrack to those moments, to that instant where your life changes forever.
And maybe sometimes it changes forjolly a fleeting moment, then it is gone, but you never forget. I still look for new and firsts. As a matter of fact, it was the intention of my yoga today. "New".
DeleteThe first kiss, the first time your heart soars, or the first time you realize this person is "the one", there is NOTHING, no, like that!
I like the naked emotion, pure sexiness and the way it's all layed out. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOh I like her and like your very evocative:
ReplyDeleteor five,
of your senses;
the wishing
you could bottle it,
That was my favorite part. Thanks, Jody!
DeleteOh, very sweet. This got me reminiscing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marcy! Me, too! Always looking for special moments is a good thing!
DeleteBut, if we could bottle those moments wouldn't they grow stale over time? Lose their potency? Lose their worth? ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat piece! An excellent use of your 42 allotted words.
I wouldn't want to bottle the actual moments BUT the feelingS of tentativeness, anticipation and excitement I had in those moments. It's the feeling. If it was bottled, and I was lonely, or whatever, I could put it in the perfume spots and conjure up purely the feeling of newness all over again.
DeleteI would take those beautiful fleeting moments every day! They never go stale.
ReplyDeleteYes! Someone after my own heart. I'm hopelessly romantic. I recall fond or loving moments in time, even the heartache, with great frequency. They, after all, have made me me. The pure feeling in a bottle? Someone would be a zillionaire if the could figure it out.
DeleteLove this free spill of words. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI love the phrase "free spill of words". That's what it felt like. Thanks so much!

ReplyDeleteThanks! We have "firsts" in common then.
DeleteWatch out! You will definitely see one, or five, more this week ;-)!!!
Looking forward to it.
