Trifextra: Me and Craig (The UPS Man)

“Signature, please.” His eyes respectfully avert as the dog licks lunch smells off his brown pants.

“Sorry Craig.”

“No problem.”

Christmastime…

Only time of year when a robe and UPS men go together.

I have to sign for every single thing since PINK tickets were stolen off my porch October of 2012. Sheesh!!!

  1. We just gotta love our dogs! So many good smells this time of year, and they don't seem to miss any of them!

    Fun 33 words, Gina!

    1. Yes! Quite the day for poor Craig. He gets his pants thoroughly licked and I answer the door half dressed (for fear he wouldn't leave a package). I'm sure he's had/seen worse though.

    2. Frankly, it doesn't sound like a bad day for Craig at all, IMO.

  2. Hahaha I can picture it all, Gina!
Plenty of (mostly women) take down the trash in their housecoats and slippers. We all get a gander!

    1. We live extremely close in our neighborhood, like 12 feet away from each other (city living at its finest). I usually throw a long coat over my pajamas if I go out there. The dog grabs the paper for a treat. I don't answer the door if inappropriately dressed but I NEED those Christmas gifts!

  3. What a pain to have to sign for everything! I don't even worry about the robe anymore...I figure those guys have probably seen it all :)

    1. It is a pain! At this time of year I'm not home often. I was sopping wet out of the shower to boot.

  4. OMG! I can so relate. When I told my UPS guy in Iowa that we were moving, he looked so forlorn. I saw him more than most of my relatives. But I had to move on, and now I've developed a deep, meaningful relationship with my new UPS guy here in SC. :)

Love how you created such a full scene in just 33 words. I have to ask about the stolen Pink tickets. Did you find out who took them? Did you still get to go? I just took my daughter, 11, to see her last week. Had a blast.

    1. Between books coming through Amazon all year on my online Christmas shopping, Craig and I see each other a lot. He knows the dog well. He used to hide packages on my porch before I had to sign. He's a good guy so I understand why you miss yours.

PINK! Isn't she awesome!!!! I've seen her twice. The tickets were stolen off my porch the month before the election so lots of canvassers out and about. 7 incidents reported in the same two weeks of mine in our tiny village. The invalidated the original tickets so whoever tried to use them, couldn't get in. They bought them too but too bad for them as I bought them first. It all worked out in the end but was a huge hassle!!!

  5. That is funny. It's strange to me because I'm in a backwoods town in the Appalachians and our deliveries get dropped off at our post office where they are held in the back until we check the mail and pick them up. We have a UPS or FED EX guy at our home maybe two or three times during Christmas. That's usually if we absolutely need to sign for something. I do know about the dog thing though. lol. I would be sooo upset if someone took my Pink tickets. I love her but haven't gotten to see her yet in concert.

  8. LOL!!! I often slink in the shadows when UPS drops off a package. Then I don't go retrieve it until the coast is clear. Happy New Year Gina.
