Ugly Monsters

"What'll it be tonight, pal?"

"Ugly monsters!"

"You know..."

"Pweety please, Mommy?"

I tell him anyway

never able to resist that

Sugar-plum face.

Smiling secretly,

hoping

He'll sneak under my covers that night.

    1. At some point we realized he shouldn't be crawling into our bed. Told him his option was his or the floor. He said he liked our carpeting and in the mornings I would find him, not in HIS bec, but behind a big chair or a potted plant in our room. I call him that, still. Along with other things

  4. My mom asked me yesterday what happened to my voice because she said she misses when I would ask for a 'hangaburger.'

    This parenting gig goes quickly.
