Red Wine Cupcakes and Superficial, Part Two

For some reason, my brain is filled with utter mush today. I've been dry since the Super Bowl (ok that was just 40 hours ago but still), so the reliable wine consumption excuse can't be used. Maybe its the weather today, gray and gloomy. Oooooh! Just turned around and there are snow flurries. Time to pull out the book 'cause now I'm definitely not doing much today. Semi-retirement has it's flexibility and perks!

My friend, Jen the "Pinner", sent me some things she thought/knew I would really like. She knows me well but I can't believe she would ever recommend for me to make these...
These are Red Wine Cupcakes! This recipe calls for just about a half bottle of Pinot Noir. Not happening...ever. I don't care for sweets enough to make this trade off. I guess that's just me.

My friends think I'm off the charts nuts lately (I've heard you talking about me!), or experiencing some kind of syndrome that comes from starvation, errr dieting because I found these in my closet; nasty little things called calories and they're NOT my friends (they're probably whispering about me too). Living in a bathing suit in 22 days=Motivation.

I think my friends should enjoy my silly state for as long as it lasts because, I'm telling you, this healthy eating and crazy exercise schedule are enough to drive me bonkers! I'm strange, I know, but also a bit...Superficial? Vain? Scared of the "muffin top"?

Unfortunately, back to the world in which we live:

Appeals court: California's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional

Personal opinion inserted here! I'm a "live and let live" kind of person.

  1. I'm not really a fan of wine/liquor in food. Maybe as a light marinade with chicken? I don't know, not in baked goods is probably what I mean. Like rum cake? Ew.

And yeah, live and let live. Do you and I don't care who you, um, do.

    1. Oh, I really meant that I'd rather drink the glass or two instead of bake cupcakes with it but I love wine...a lot.

I usually stay away from discussing political issue unless it's with someone that has an open mind or can agree to disagree. I usually have to mediate some close friends because one is far right and the other rather left.

We are all trying to live our lives the best we can. Love is love is love unless it's the bad kind, meaning abusive.

    2. I just wanted to let you know that I've been trying to leave a comment on your post three times today. You have an "Internal Server Failure" and it will not let me post comment. I also tried to email you directly to let you know about the problem.

I had a lot to say about the situation. Will try again tomorrow.

  2. I didn't expect any other decision. California has a strong conservative presence, but we have some common sense here too.

Better sex and more of it would go a long way with some of these guys.

    1. Hats off to common sense! Illinois could use more of it and, of course, less corruption.

Which guys? The conservatives? Who doesn't with better and more?

    3. AND everyone would be happy, with big smiles on their faces...world peace?
